SuperGaming’s Indus Battle Royale surpasses 1 million downloads on launch day
SuperGaming, the Indian game development studio, proudly announced that their new Battle Royale game, Indus, has exceeded one million downloads on both iOS and Android platforms within its first day of release. Garnering an impressive 14 million pre-registrations prior to launch, Indus quickly shot to the top of the free-to-play game charts on both the iOS App Store and Google Play Store.
The launch day saw remarkable player engagement, with 80,349 matches played and 10,50,747 total kills recorded. The game's unique Grudge system, which allows players to declare rivalries, saw 2,01,217 grudges on the first day alone. Additional gameplay highlights included 8,577 ‘Cosmium Clutches’ and 34,680 melee weapon kills, with 158 kills achieved using the Chappal, a melee weapon featured in the game.
Roby John, CEO and co-founder of SuperGaming, expressed that reaching one million downloads is a significant milestone, but it’s just the start of their journey with Indus. John emphasized the studio's commitment to enhancing the game in collaboration with its community, recognizing that there are always areas for improvement.
Indus is now available for download on both iOS and Android. SuperGaming has also unveiled its extensive esports roadmap, the ‘Clutch India Movement’. This initiative kicks off with the Indus International Tournament, featuring a prize pool of Rs 2.5 crore, and aims to bring together top Indian and international teams across four tournament phases. Additionally, a major tournament, the Indus International Mahasangram, is planned for October 2025.
