Pune: Dr Ajay P Kothari President and Founder - Astrox Corporation, USA says that one can go on moon and set up human habitats over there.
However, he is also of the view that a human being cannot stay there for a period beyond 2-3 months at a stretch and come back. Also, he appreciated the successful Chandrayaan-3 mission of the country in the recent past.
While addressing a gathering at the DY Patil International University in Pune on the occasion of its sixth Foundation Day, Dr Ajay P Kothari, also said that flying by rockets with reusable vehicle will not only be cheaper, but also a viable option in the days to come. The topic of his lecture was ‘Living in Space: Why Space Exploration.’
Talking about his experience at the University, he said that it is really a very good University as it has made wonderful achievements during past six years.
He also said that India sits on the Thorium deposits amounting to 846,000 tons. This deposit is enough to take care of the nuclear energy in the country for nearly 600 years, he said. Prior to it, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Prabhat Ranjan, said, “In past six years, many of our innovative steps have been adapted at national level. As a result, the University has been recognised as a trendsetter among higher educational institutions in the country.”
