Honor Magic Series: The Phone Will Get 7 Years Of OS And Security Updates

Exciting news ahead for Honor fans!
Chinese smartphone manufacturer Honor has announced that it will now provide a remarkable seven years of Android OS and security updates for its flagship phone series, an increase from the previous five years.
This exciting upgrade comes on the heels of Qualcomm’s announcement about extending support for its Snapdragon 8 and 7 chipsets for up to eight years. With this commitment, Honor joins the ranks of Google and Samsung as the third company to offer such long-term support.
Honor's announcement is part of their fresh new strategy known as the "Alpha Plan." This initiative aims to create a global ecosystem of devices that work seamlessly together, all powered by artificial intelligence.
Under the guidance of their newly appointed CEO, James Li, Honor is set to create innovative AI devices and services that can operate across various operating systems. They’re kicking things off with a universal file-sharing system that promises super-fast transfers between iOS and Android devices. Plus, existing Honor phones will benefit from the upgrade in update support and some neat AI features, like image upscaling to restore old photos and AI deepfake detection, which will be rolled out to the Magic 7 Pro.
At the recent MWC event, Honor also showcased some cool new gadgets! The Honor Earbuds Open are priced at €149 (around $155, £125, or AU$255), while the Honor Watch 5 Ultra will be available for €279, and the Honor Pad V9 will cost €250. Stay tuned, as the Honor MagicBook Pro14 laptop is also set to hit the shelves soon!
