HCLTech Appoints Sonia Eland as Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand Operations.

HCL Technologies (HCLTech) has appointed Sonia Eland as the new executive vice president and country manager for its Australia and New Zealand operations, effective from April 1, 2024. Sonia Eland takes over from Michael Horton, who will transition into a consulting role after nearly 10 years of contributing to the establishment of HCLTech as a digital technology services partner in the region.

In her new position, Sonia Eland will report to Swapan Johri, President, Growth Markets at HCLTech, and will be based in Sydney. Eland brings over three decades of experience across various industries, including consulting, technology, banking, retail, and travel. Prior to joining HCLTech, she served as the technology strategy and transformation partner at Deloitte Australia and has held roles at organizations such as DXC Technology, CSC, Fujitsu, Westpac, and HSBC. She is an alumna of Macquarie Business School and the University of Sydney.

HCLTech has been active in Australia and New Zealand for over 20 years, providing digital, engineering, cloud, and AI capabilities across different sectors. In the current year, the company has expanded its collaborations with ANZ Bank, Cricket Australia, and agribusiness firm Elders.
