GTA 6 launch in 2025: 5 confirmed details you can’t miss
Fans are totally freaking out about GTA 6 (Grand Theft Auto), which is scheduled to lastly premiere in 2025. After years of waiting, the game has been confirmed with the first trailer, along with several leaked details. The initial trailer shows a sneak peek at how much more lifelike the game is about to get. Non-playable characters (NPCs) are shown doing mundane activities such as applying sunscreen, drinking beer, and running with dogs. This makes the environment feel more alive and the game world more realistic.
Interactions with non-playable characters (NPCs) will be more dynamic, too, evolving the advanced systems. Rockstar first introduced in Red Dead Redemption 2. That means players who handle themselves in perhaps less-than-honourable ways can expect to have conversations in a fraction of their actual life different from others — a leap from what we might think of as realism.
The world of the game is also expanding. The universe of GTA 6 introduces a fresh setting, the State of Leonida, modelled after Florida. It will focus on Vice City, but players will also be able to visit locations such as the Florida Everglades and Keys and the surrounding islands. This guarantees one of the biggest open worlds in Rockstar history — ideal for getting lost.
As seen in the trailer, the game looks even better once you step foot into the actual game, with flamingos, alligators, and more, perfect for the wildlife enthusiast. That could hint at a wider range of species and super-detailed plants to create an environment that could feel more alive. There will also be a female lead for the first time in the series. The game takes players through the story of Lucia and her partner Jason, reminiscent of the infamous Bonnie and Clyde. This dynamic should lead to interesting character interplays with varied playstyles for each character, providing a new lens to the gameplay.
If you’re still stuck on a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, bad news—GTA 6 will exclusively be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and, if you’re lucky, possibly PC at a later date. It is also reported that the game will run better on the PlayStation 5 Pro, owing to its beefier hardware.
The confirmed details make for the most exciting wait for GTA 6 yet.
