Will Your iPhone Support Apple Intelligence? Here are Which Models Are Compatible and Which Aren't

At its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June, Apple gave us a preview of iOS 18 and its AI features, branded as Apple Intelligence. The update introduces capabilities such as on-device image generation, ChatGPT-powered Siri, automatic call recording and transcription, and more.

While iOS 18 is compatible with over 20 iPhone models, the advanced Apple Intelligence features are exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Unfortunately, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, which were released alongside the iPhone 15 Pro series, will not have access to Apple Intelligence.

Apple is branding its new generative AI features across iPhones, iPads, and Macs as Apple Intelligence. This feature is already available to users of the iPhone 15 Pro series with the latest iOS 18 beta and maintains privacy and user data security through private cloud computing technology. Apple Intelligence is also accessible on all iPads and Macs equipped with Apple Silicon M1 or newer chips, including the first M-series chip-powered MacBook Air and the budget-friendly Mac mini with M1/M2 chips.

Finally, the standout feature of Apple Intelligence is the new Siri, powered by ChatGPT, which delivers an extensive range of responses.
