Vivo has officially launched the Vivo V50 in India, positioning it as the successor to the Vivo V40, which debuted just five months ago. With a starting price of Rs 34,999, the new Vivo smartphone introduces key upgrades while retaining some features from its predecessor. The device is set to compete with the likes of the OnePlus 12R and iQOO Neo 9 Pro in the premium mid-range segment.
Vivo V50: Price and Availability
The Vivo V50 is priced at Rs 34,999 for the base variant with 128GB storage, while the higher-end 256GB model costs Rs 36,999. Pre-orders are currently live, and the first official sale is scheduled for February 25. Customers can purchase the device via Flipkart, Vivo exclusive stores, and other retail outlets.
Launch offers include a flat Rs 2,000 instant discount on purchases made using HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, and SBI Bank credit cards. Additionally, buyers can avail up to 6 months of no-cost EMI options.
Vivo V50: Specifications and Features
The Vivo V50 shares several core specifications with the V40 but introduces notable enhancements. It is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, coupled with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 2.2 storage.
Display and Design
The Vivo V50 features a 6.78-inch quad-curved FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, identical to the V40.
The device maintains a premium design with a glass back and a sleek profile, measuring just 7.39mm in thickness and weighing approximately 199g.
It is available in three color options: Titanium Grey, Rose Red, and Starry Night.
Camera System
The smartphone sports a dual-camera setup on the rear, featuring two 50MP sensors. While the camera configuration remains similar to the previous model, Vivo claims to have used different 50MP sensors for improved performance.
For selfies, it boasts a 50MP front camera, promising high-quality captures.
Battery and Charging
A significant upgrade comes in the form of a larger 6,000mAh battery, an improvement over the 5,500mAh unit in the V40.
The charging speed has also been enhanced, with support for 90W fast charging compared to the previous 80W.

The Vivo V50 comes with both IP68 and IP69 ratings, ensuring enhanced protection against water and dust—features typically found in ultra-premium smartphones.
It introduces AI-powered functionalities such as Circle to Search, AI Transcript, AI Live Call Translation, and more.
