Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Set for Launch, Slim Design Raises Concerns

Samsung is preparing to unveil the Galaxy S25 Edge, with a launch expected in April or May. The company has been showcasing the smartphone’s slim design since January, generating anticipation among consumers. However, leaks and industry reports indicate that the device may come with trade-offs in key areas.

Samsung’s upcoming flagship is set to be the slimmest S series device, but this design choice may impact certain features. The smartphone is reported to include a dual-camera setup instead of the triple-camera configuration found in other S25 models. The omission of a telephoto lens could limit zoom capabilities, a key feature in premium smartphones.

Battery performance is another area of concern. Reports suggest the Galaxy S25 Edge will feature a 3,786mAh battery, marketed as 3,900mAh. In comparison, the standard Galaxy S25 includes a 4,000mAh battery. Additionally, the device is expected to support 25W fast charging instead of the 45W charging available in higher-end models. This combination of a smaller battery and reduced charging speed may affect user experience, especially for those who prioritize battery longevity.

Despite these compromises, the Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to offer strong performance. The device will likely be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, similar to other S25 series models. AI-driven features such as Sketch to Image, Now Brief, and Instant Slow-mo are expected to be included, enhancing user interactions. The smartphone may also feature a 200MP main camera, similar to the Galaxy S25 Ultra, though image processing and performance could differ.
