Homegrown mobile device manufacturer Lava International aims to capture a 10% market share in the ₹20,000-₹25,000 smartphone segment with its new rear display handset, Agni 3.

Executive Director Sunil Raina mentioned that since the relaunch of its smartphone line, the Agni series has seen significant growth.

The company is aiming at young tech lovers who like gaming and use social media. With Agni 3, Lava hopes to get a 10% share of the online market in this price range.

Agni 3 is priced between ₹19,999 and ₹22,999 and has a MediaTek Dimensity 7300X octa-core processor, which allows for a dual-screen feature.

This processor is also used in the premium Motorola Razr 50.

The device includes a 1.74-inch rear display that allows users to take selfies with the rear camera, make calls, receive notifications, control music apps, track steps, and record voice.

While rear displays are available on some premium flip phones, they are not found in bar phones.

The rear display helps save energy, providing longer battery life, and is part of Lava's effort to differentiate its phones by offering unique experiences. Like other devices, Agni 3 is made in India.

Lava is the only Indian mobile phone brand to withstand the competitive pressure from foreign brands. The Agni series has grown a lot since it was relaunched, with Agni 2's sales increasing by 650% compared to Agni 1. Agni 3 is expected to grow by 200-300% over Agni 2.

Agni 3 will be available only on Amazon starting October 9. Lava is investing around ₹500 crore to sell more phones and aims to capture 10% of the market for phones under ₹30,000 by 2025-26.
