Apple is gearing up to introduce the 11th-generation iPad early in 2025, potentially alongside the release of iPadOS 18.3. According to a report by 9to5Mac, this update will mark a significant performance improvement for Apple’s entry-level tablet, which hasn’t seen a major update since the 10th-generation iPad.

The new iPad model is expected to maintain its current design but receive substantial internal upgrades. Reports suggest that it will be powered by Apple’s A17 Pro chip, which was recently used in the iPad Mini. This hardware upgrade is likely to enable the device to support Apple Intelligence, the company’s suite of AI-powered features.

For connectivity, the 11th-generation iPad may include Apple’s first in-house modem, supporting both Wi-Fi and 5G networks. However, it might not offer mmWave 5G technology, and performance could be slightly below Qualcomm’s existing modems in terms of speed and reliability.

Launch Timeline

Apple’s 11th-generation iPad is anticipated to debut in January 2025. The launch is expected to coincide with the rollout of iPadOS 18.3, which has already been made available to developers in a beta version. The new iPad will come pre-installed with the latest operating system, featuring improved multitasking and other software enhancements.

Other Upcoming Apple Products

In addition to the 11th-generation iPad, Apple has several new products in the pipeline for 2025, including updates to the iPhone SE, MacBook Air, and iPad Air, as well as advancements in smart home technology and accessories.

iPhone SE 4

The next iPhone SE is expected to adopt the A18 chip introduced with the iPhone 16 lineup. It will reportedly feature an 8GB RAM configuration, a design inspired by the iPhone 14, and a larger OLED display with Face ID. This marks a departure from the traditional Touch ID setup and home button. Improved camera capabilities and a larger battery are also anticipated.

MacBook Air with M4 Chip

Apple is rumored to release a refreshed MacBook Air equipped with the M4 chip in 2025. The base model may include 16GB of RAM, promising improved performance while maintaining the Air’s lightweight and compact design.

iPad Air Update

The iPad Air is slated to receive an upgrade to the M3 chip. Additionally, Apple is expected to launch accessories like a Magic Keyboard specifically designed for this model.

Second-Generation AirTag

A new version of Apple’s AirTag is expected to arrive in early 2025, featuring enhanced anti-stalking capabilities and better tracking performance.

Smart Home Hub

Apple is reportedly working on a smart home display designed as a control center for connected devices. The device is expected to feature a 6-inch square screen, a front-facing camera, and support for video calls. It will run a hybrid interface combining watchOS and iOS StandBy mode, offering dedicated apps for browsing, media control, and device management.
