Apple Restructures AI Leadership to Revamp Siri: Report

Apple is shaking up its administrative species to get its AI sweats back on track after months of detainments, Bloomberg News reported on Thursday citing people familiar with the situation.
Some AI advancements to state assistant Siri will be delayed until 2026, Apple had said before this month without giving any reason for the detainments.
Mike Rockwell, vice chairman in charge of the Vision Products Group, will now be in charge of the iPhone maker's Siri virtual adjunct as CEO Tim Cook has lost confidence in AI head John Giannandrea's capability to execute on product development, the report said.
Rockwell, known as the brain behind Apple's Vision Pro headset, will report to software principal Craig Federighi, removing Siri iOS 18.4 fully from Giannandrea's command, according to Bloomberg.
Paul Meade, and superintendent who has run tackle engineering for the Vision Pro under Rockwell, will take over VPG, the report added.
Apple didn't incontinently respond to a Reuters request for comment on the report.
Last time, Apple blazoned a range of iPhone features called Apple Intelligence that included new capabilities similar as rewriting emails and recapitulating a cluttered inbox.
Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook has lost confidence in the capability of AI head John Giannandrea to execute on product development, so he’s moving over another top superintendent to help Vision Pro creator Mike Rockwell. In a new part, Rockwell will be in charge of the Siri virtual adjunct, according to the people, who asked not to be linked because the moves haven’t been blazoned.
