Apple iPhone 17 Pro Tipped to Get Triple 48MP Camera Setup

Apple is reportedly preparing to introduce dual-video recording functionality with its upcoming iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, expected to launch in September. The feature may allow users to record simultaneously using both the front and rear cameras, directly from the built-in Camera app.

The information comes from tech tipster Jon Prosser via a Front Page Tech video. According to the leak, Apple might embed dual-video capability in the iPhone 17 Pro camera interface, a feature already present in third-party platforms like Snapchat and on select Samsung Galaxy models. Native support would streamline usage for content creators, offering picture-in-picture video capture that enables commentary and reaction-style content with greater ease.

Apple has not officially confirmed the integration, and details remain speculative at this stage.

The iPhone 17 Pro is also rumored to feature a redesigned camera layout, moving away from the familiar square module. Leaks point to a possible pill-shaped or rectangular camera system, which could influence both visual identity and functionality.

Camera hardware enhancements are expected across the iPhone 17 lineup. Reports suggest a 24MP front camera upgrade, doubling the resolution from its predecessor, the iPhone 16 Pro. This could result in improved clarity for selfies and front-facing video.

The iPhone 17 Pro Max may include a trio of 48MP sensors covering wide, ultra-wide, and periscope telephoto lenses. If accurate, this would be the first iPhone to feature triple 48MP rear cameras.
