Leaked images of the alleged iPhone 17 series have been making waves online, sparking speculation about Apple’s next flagship design. However, tech expert Mark Gurman has weighed in, dismissing the claims.

Viral ‘Leaks’ Show a New Camera Design

The images, first shared by X user @MajinBuOfficial, suggest that the iPhone 17 Pro will feature a redesigned camera module. The leaked render shows a wider camera setup compared to the rumored iPhone Air, which appears to have a single-camera system.

According to the images, the primary and ultrawide cameras on the iPhone 17 Pro are horizontally aligned on a bar spanning the phone’s back. An LED flash is placed on the right side. While the render shows a white-colored device, the dark camera bar hints that it may match the phone’s overall colorway in different variants.

Reality Check: Expert Calls the Leaks ‘Fake’

Despite the online buzz, Mark Gurman quickly debunked the rumors. Reacting to the leaks, he stated, “The ‘iPhone 17 Pro’ renders on YouTube tonight appear to be based on this fake late January sketch.”

Gurman even shared a post from @MajinBuOfficial dated January 24, in which the user admitted that the so-called CAD image of the iPhone 17 Pro had been reviewed by designers, who concluded that it was likely fake. However, the post also suggested that the design might still resemble Apple’s current prototype testing.

Official Reveal Still Months Away

With the iPhone 17 series expected to launch in September 2025, there’s plenty of time for speculation. For now, fans will have to wait for Apple’s official announcement to see what the tech giant truly has in store.
