Apple unveils M4 MacBook Air with faster performance, new sky blue color, and lower prices

Apple has officially updated the MacBook Air lineup, bringing in the new M4 chip, improved specs, and a fresh Sky Blue color option—all while lowering the price tag.
Powerful M4 Performance & More Memory
The latest MacBook Air models—available in 13-inch and 15-inch sizes—now feature Apple’s M4 chip, which boasts a 10-core CPU and up to 10 GPU cores. Alongside this, Apple has bumped up the base RAM to 16GB (upgradable to 32GB), ensuring smoother multitasking. Storage still starts at 256GB, with the option to expand up to 2TB. Apple claims that the new M4-powered MacBook Air delivers up to twice the performance of the M1 version.
Better External Display Support & Camera Upgrade
One of the most notable upgrades is support for dual external displays—a major improvement over the previous model, which only allowed this when the built-in display was turned off.
Apple has also upgraded the FaceTime camera to a 12MP sensor with Center Stage and Desk View, promising better video call quality.
A Cool New Color: Sky Blue
Aesthetic updates include a new Sky Blue finish, joining Midnight, Starlight, and Silver. Apple describes it as a "metallic light blue" shade, adding a fresh touch to the lineup.
Lower Prices, Same Sleek Design
While keeping its ultra-thin, lightweight build, Liquid Retina display, and two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports, the new MacBook Air still lacks Wi-Fi 7, sticking to Wi-Fi 6E.
The biggest surprise? Lower prices.
13-inch MacBook Air now starts at S$1,499 (S$100 less).
15-inch MacBook Air now starts at S$1,799 (S$100 less).
Availability
Pre-orders begin today, with retail availability starting March 12. You can purchase the new MacBook Air via the Apple Online Store, as well as Apple’s official stores on Lazada and Shopee.
While the changes may seem minor, the combination of a faster chip, better display support, an upgraded camera, and a fresh new color—at a lower price—makes the MacBook Air an even better choice for most users.
