iPhone manufacturer Apple has introduced a new AI-powered image-editing tool named Clean Up.
This feature allows users to remove unwanted objects from their photos.
It is similar to Google’s Magic Editor and is available for free on Android and iOS via the Google Photos app.
Availability and Compatibility
Currently, the Clean Up feature is accessible only on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max with the 3rd developer beta of iOS 18.1.
The feature is not available on other iPhones running iOS 18 developer beta 8, although this version includes generative AI summaries from all apps.-
Functionality
Users can access Clean Up through the Photos app. The tool uses smart detection to automatically identify and remove unwanted objects with a single click. It employs a generative fill technique to seamlessly blend the edited area with the rest of the photo.
Future Availability
It is not yet confirmed whether Clean Up will remain exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro series or if it will be expanded to other models with the official release of iOS 18.1.
Upcoming Apple Event
This update comes just before Apple’s “It’s Glowtime” event, where the company is expected to unveil new products, including the iPhone 16 series, Apple Watch Series 10, Watch Ultra 3, and a new iPad mini.
