Apple iPhone 17 to feature ProMotion display and high refresh rate across all models

Apple is reportedly set to expand its high-refresh-rate ProMotion display technology to all models of the upcoming iPhone 17, according to new leaks. For years, the company has kept the smooth 120Hz refresh rate exclusive to its "Pro" models, but a tip from Weibo-based leaker Digital Chat Station suggests that the iPhone 17 might change that trend.

While the exact refresh rate has yet to be confirmed, the leak indicates that Apple could equip all iPhone 17 models with LTPO panels. This would be a major upgrade from the LTPS panels in the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16, which are limited to a 60Hz refresh rate.

Apple analyst Ross Young has also predicted that both the iPhone 17 and the rumored iPhone 17 "Air" will feature ProMotion OLED displays. The LTPO technology would not only support a high refresh rate but also offer always-on display functionality, allowing users to view notifications, time, and widgets without unlocking their phones.

Alongside the display improvements, rumors suggest that the iPhone 17 series will also feature an anti-reflective display, potentially more scratch-resistant than the current Ceramic Shield.

With the official launch scheduled for September 2025, expect more leaks and rumors in the coming months. However, until Apple provides official confirmation, it remains uncertain which features will make it to the final product.
