The iPhone rumor mill is in full swing, and the latest buzz suggests that Apple is testing reverse wireless charging for its upcoming iPhone 17 Pro models. According to a Weibo-based leaker, Instant Digital, this feature could allow the iPhone to wirelessly charge other Apple accessories like AirPods, Apple Watch, and possibly a new MagSafe Battery Pack.

While reverse wireless charging isn’t a new concept, Apple has only implemented a limited version of it before. With the MagSafe Battery Pack for iPhone 12 and newer models, users could charge the battery pack when the iPhone was plugged in via Lightning. However, this feature was discontinued with the iPhone 15 series, which switched to USB-C.

Reports from MacRumors indicate that the new reverse wireless charging feature on the iPhone 17 Pro could support up to 7.5W charging, enhancing convenience for users who rely on multiple Apple devices.

Despite the testing phase, it remains uncertain if this feature will be officially included when the iPhone 17 lineup launches in September 2025. Apple is also rumored to introduce major design changes to the Pro models, including a horizontal camera bump and a hybrid aluminum-glass back panel.

As always, while leaks provide intriguing insights, it’s best to take them with caution until Apple makes an official announcement.
