Speaking during a district collectors' conference at the secretariat on Wednesday, Naidu revealed that the state has signed an agreement with Google aimed at transforming the port city into a global technology hub.

“During IT Minister Nara Lokesh’s recent visit to the United States, he engaged with Google’s leadership at their headquarters. This dialogue culminated in an agreement to establish operations in Visakhapatnam. The signed MoU marks the beginning of an ambitious collaboration,” Naidu said.

The Chief Minister highlighted the transformative potential of this partnership, particularly in areas like data centers, AI, machine learning (ML), deep technology, and internet sea cables. He emphasized Visakhapatnam’s potential to emerge as a pivotal global service hub. “The entry of a major player like Google under a strategic investment plan will be a game changer for the region,” he stated.

Following Andhra Pradesh’s proposal to make Visakhapatnam a focal point for technology investments, a delegation from Google conducted a detailed survey of the city. Impressed by its infrastructure and growth potential, the delegation’s feedback bolstered plans to make Visakhapatnam a key destination in Google’s expansion strategy in India.

“With Google’s focus on AI and related technologies, Visakhapatnam’s strategic location and supportive policies offer a significant advantage,” Naidu added.

Naidu also shared insights from his meeting with Google’s Vice President Bikash Koley in Amaravati. During the discussion, Google outlined its vision for expansion in India and recognized Andhra Pradesh as a crucial partner. “Google’s plans align with our state’s progressive industrial policies, which are designed to create a favorable business environment and generate employment opportunities,” the Chief Minister said.

Expressing pride in the collaboration, Naidu noted, “Andhra Pradesh’s forward-looking approach has attracted global leaders like Google. This partnership is expected to deliver substantial benefits for the state’s economy and youth.”

The Chief Minister pointed out that the state’s focus on creating a robust business ecosystem has already begun to attract major investments. He reiterated that collaborations with global technology firms like Google would not only boost Andhra Pradesh’s standing in the tech world but also open up new avenues for innovation and job creation.
