On Thursday, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy revealed that the state is in talks with the World Bank to secure low-interest funding for development projects.

This announcement follows his recent trip to the US and South Korea, where he met with World Bank officials.

During his Independence Day address at Golconda Fort, Reddy criticised the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) for increasing the state's debt substantially.

He detailed his administration's plans to restructure this debt and pledged to avoid high-interest loans to protect the public from financial strain.

Reddy also announced that the recent visit resulted in agreements for Rs 31,532 crore in new investments, expected to generate 30,000 jobs. Work on these agreements is already underway.

He further noted earlier investments secured at Davos and stressed that his government is working to fulfill the aspirations of Telangana’s citizens, ushering in a new chapter in the state’s democratic governance.
