…Fuels Bitcoin To New Peak

London: The price of bitcoin hit a new high Wednesday as investors bet that former President Donald Trump’s victory in the US presidential election will be a boon for cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin jumped nearly eight per cent in early trading, climbing above $75,000 and smashing its previous record $73,770 set in March. Bitcoin is almost surpassing $1.5 trillion in valuation. Meanwhile, other cryptocurrency tokens also made progress with the total crypto market cap zeroing in on $2.5 trillion, up nine per cent in just a day.

On Wednesday (India time), Bitcoin was hovering over $75,000 per coin.
