Former Royal Challengers Bangalore player AB de Villiers talked about rumors.

He said Rohit Sharma might move from the Mumbai Indians to RCB. He mentioned that if this move happens, it would be a big news story.

However, de Villiers thinks it's not very likely to happen. Last season, Rohit lost his captaincy at Mumbai.

Hardik Pandya became the new captain. With the IPL 2025 mega auction coming up, people are talking more about Rohit's possible move to Bangalore. Rohit didn't say anything when the captaincy change happened.

However, an audio clip from IPL 2024 showed him discussing the situation with the Mumbai Indians.

De Villiers expressed his surprise at the idea, stating, "I almost laughed at the Rohit comment. If he moves from Mumbai to RCB, that would be huge! Imagine the headlines; it would be bigger than Hardik Pandya's transfer back to Mumbai from Gujarat Titans, which wasn’t much of a surprise."

He added, "I don't think MI would let Rohit go. I’d give it a zero or 0.1 percent chance."

I don’t see why turning 40 would be a problem. He has been with the team for several seasons, and the players are accustomed to him. While there is pressure because he hasn't won a trophy for RCB, he has been an exceptional player," de Villiers said.
