Visakhapatnam: After his talks with Odisha counterpart Naveen Patnaik to thrash out differences over Polavaram issue, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has directed his party MPs to corner the Centre over delay in approving revised estimates for the mega irrigation project and demand rolling back of the decision to privatise Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) in Parliament beginning Monday.
The Winter session is expected to witness turmoil with Reddy asking the MPs to be aggressive. Reddy had already expressed his anguish over differences over revised cost of Polavaram project promised national status at the time of bifurcation and the delay in release of funds thereby delaying completion.
RINL is another contentious issue over which the Chief Minister had written two letters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to explore other options to prevent it from privatisation. The Chief Minister held a meeting of party MPs at Amaravati on Friday and discussed the strategy and the issues to be raised.
According to the Chief Minister's Office, he directed the MPs to raise the Polavaram issue and get the escalated cost of ` 55,657 crore approved by the Centre without delay.
