YSRCP to aTtend Budget Session Beginning Today

Amaravati: YSRCP MLAs have decided to attend the opening day of the budget session of AP Legislative Assembly beginning here on Monday.
There is clarity whether the 11 MLAs led by former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will attend only the Governor's address to both Houses or the entire budget session. The decision to attend is viewed as a strategic move by Jagan to avoid the threat of disqualification.
The House will be adjourned for the day after Governor S Abdul Nazeer's address to the Assembly and the Legislative Council. This is the first time that the TDP-led NDA coalition will be tabling a full-fledged budget after forming the government.
Assembly Speaker Ch Ayyanna Patrudu recently said that any MLA who remains absent without valid reason for 60 days will be disqualified as per rules. Earlier, YSRCP had said they would boycott Assembly sessions insisting on granting status as Leader of Opposition.
The date of the budget presentation will be decided at the business advisory committee meeting. Budget presentation may be delayed if Election Commission permission is not obtained in view of model code under enforcement for MLC seats for graduates and teachers' constituencies.
