Visakhapatnam: Was there any discussion on the likely scenario in the general elections slated for 2024 during Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on Monday?

There is hectic speculation in political circles after Modi met Leader of Opposition in AP Assembly and TDP president after a meeting on 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' meeting on August 7 in Delhi and the meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah held with film actor NTR Junior, grandson of late NTR, at a star hotel on Sunday during the former's daylong visit to Hyderabad.

YSRCP leader and former Minister Kodali Nani said that Shah met NTR Junior as part of BJP's plan to expand in Telugu States. A day before the Chief Minister's visit to Delhi, Union Minister Anurag Thakur said during his visit to AP that they are hopeful of 'unexpected' developments in the State as a prelude to elections. His criticism of YSRCP was strongly rebuffed by Industries Minister Gudivada Amarnath.

Various circles have been agog with speculation for a long time that YSR Congress Party may join the NDA. Of late, there is also talk that BJP and its alliance partner Pawan Kalyan-led Jana Sena may align with TDP if required.

Pawan Kalyan had earlier hinted that there is possibility of Jana Sena going to elections with BJP, or alone or all along with TDP to defeat the YSRCP.
