Rahul Gandhi has decided to run for the Raebareli Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh along with his current seat in Wayanad, Kerala. This sparked mixed reactions from people in Wayanad, where elections were held on April 26th.

Some folks in Wayanad felt it was fine for him to contest from two places, considering his leadership role in the country. They believed there was nothing wrong with it. However, others disagreed, thinking it wasn't the right move on his part.

At a local shop in Wayanad, one person supported Gandhi's decision, arguing that since he leads the "INDIA bloc," there's no issue with him running from multiple seats. However, another person expressed concerns, suggesting that if he wins both seats, he might give up the Wayanad one, which wouldn't be good for them. They decided to wait and see how things unfold.

Veteran Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) leader PK Kunhalikutty supported Gandhi's decision, stating that it's perfectly fine for him to contest from Raebareli as well. He pointed out that IUML had even requested the Congress party's national leadership for Gandhi to contest from another seat besides Wayanad. Kunhalikutty drew a parallel with Prime Minister Modi's past decision to contest from two seats and believed Gandhi's move would strengthen the "INDIA bloc."

In the 2019 elections, Rahul Gandhi won the Wayanad seat but lost in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh. This time in Wayanad, his opponents were CPI leader Annie Raja and state BJP president K. Surendran.

Gandhi's decision to contest from Raebareli, in addition to Wayanad, has stirred up conversations in Wayanad and beyond. As the election drama unfolds, all eyes are on Gandhi's next moves and the impact they will have on both constituencies.
