Hyderabad: YS Vivekananda Reddy's murder case is back in focus again ahead of the Assembly polls in Andhra Pradesh with the former Andhra Pradesh minister's daughter Dr Suneetha Narreddy alleging that the investigation in the high-profile case by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has come to a standstill.
Vivekanda Reddy, who was a minister in the Congress government in undivided Andhra Pradesh, is brother of former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy whose son, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, is the present Chief Minister of truncated Andhra Pradesh.
Accusing her brother YS Jagan of obstructing justice, Dr. Narreddy disclosed that Jagan had personally intervened to prevent her from filing a petition for a CBI inquiry into the murder.
"As a sister seeking justice for her beloved father, I was shocked when Jagan stood in the way of our family's pursuit of truth," said Dr Narreddy. "Why is my brother, the Chief Minister, afraid of a thorough investigation? What is he hiding about his own family member's death?"
Dr Narreddy urged the people of Andhra Pradesh not to vote for 'murderers' alluding to her dissatisfaction with the current situation surrounding her father's case.
The investigation into YS Vivekananda Reddy's death has now become a subject of intense scrutiny, with Dr. Narreddy's revelations raising further questions about the circumstances surrounding the case and the role of those in power. CBI's efforts to make key arrests have seemingly been thwarted.
Dr. Narreddy also revealed troubling details about alleged intimidation tactics against CBI officers involved in the case. She mentioned that cases have been filed against these officers, who according to her are derailing the investigation. She also disclosed that she has been facing pressure from YSRCP leaders and family members to withdraw the petition for a CBI inquiry.
