Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has ordered to identify 500 to 1,000 acres of land outside the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and inside the Regional Ring Road (RRR) to establish new industrial areas. These lands should also be within 50 to 100 km of airport, national highways and State highways, he directed the government officials.
On Monday, he held a high-level review meeting on industrial development in the State with Deputy Chief Minister, Finance and Planning Minister Bhatti Vikramarka at the Telangana Secretariat. Speaking on this occasion, the Chief Minister has made it clear that the lands must be acquired for industries should be barren lands and unfit for cultivation.
Revanth Reddy said that industrial decentralisation should be given priority. Large scale lands have been allotted to many companies to set up industries in different parts of the State. The CM ordered the officials to submit a full report on the number of industries that have acquired lands across the State and their current status.
He stated that priority should be given to non-polluting industries and alternatives should be suggested in the case of Nacharam, Jeedimetla and Katedan industrial areas in Hyderabad. He asked to study the procedures in place in the Middle East and European countries on the steps to be taken to set up bulk drug companies.
