RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat has voiced concerns over India's declining population growth rate, emphasizing its potential dangers. Speaking at a private event in Nagpur, Bhagwat referred to historical population policies, noting, "In 1998 or 2002, our population policy indicated that the growth rate should not fall below 2.1."

He elaborated, "Even population science agrees that a decline below 2.1 is harmful. Ideally, it should be around 3. Otherwise, society risks perishing from within."

Bhagwat highlighted the importance of family as the core unit of society, transmitting culture and values across generations. "Our traditions and values, which are timeless and globally relevant, are preserved through family," he stated.

Calling for unity, Bhagwat urged people to transcend caste and communal divisions. He contrasted Indian culture with others that prioritize individualism, saying, "Bharatiya sanskriti believes in interconnectedness."

"If someone is hungry, we feed them. Even a beggar at our doorstep receives aid through a child in the family. This is how we pass on values of sacrifice, not selfishness, from one generation to the next," Bhagwat concluded.
