Rasi Seeds steps in to boost cotton productivity
Working with the Government of Telangana on an initiative to increase cotton productivity, profitability through HDPS

Hyderabad: City-based agriculture company, Rasi Seeds said it has been working with the Government of Telangana, Professor Jayshankar Telangana State Agriculture University (PJTSAU), farmers and scientists to increase cotton productivity and profitability of the farmers. An initiative of the seed maker, Rasi Max Project, implemented High Density Planting System (HDPS) combined with the company’s developed seeds to test production and productivity.
On a pilot mode the project was put to test under the observation of the PJTSAU scientists, as a proof of concept. The first demonstration of mechanical harvesting programme on HDPS hybrids of Rasi Max series was done at PJTSAU, SRTC farm in Hyderabad in the presence of Dr Praveen Rao, ex-Vice Chancellor, PJTSAU; Hanumanthu Zandage, Special Commissioner of Agriculture, Government of Telangana; and Dr Jagadeshwar, Director Research, PJTSAU. KVK scientists and HDPS cluster’s district agriculture officer were present. The machine harvesting demonstration of two-row picking was also undertaken.
“Telangana government is committed to promote innovative and sustainable agricultural practices like HDPS that will benefit our farmers. I urge scientists to continue working towards developing new technologies,” Agricultural Special Commissioner Hanumanthu Zandage said.
