Hyderabad: CP Radhakrishnan, sworn in as the Governor of Telangana today, will assume the additional charge as the Lt Governor of Puducherry on March 22. He was appointed as the Governor of Jharkhand in February 2023.
Radhakrishnan takes over as the third Governor of Telangana since its formation as a state, following the resignation of Tamilsai Soundararajan. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Ministers, MLAs and MLCs were at the swearing ceremony.
A native of Tamil Nadu, Radhakrishnan was twice elected to the Lok Sabha from Coimbatore. Known as the ‘right man in the wrong party’, Radhakrishnan has been with the Bharatiya Janata Party since 1998.
CP Radhakrishnan has also been the Chairman of the All India Coir Board for four years from 2016 to 2019.
