Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Thursday said: “A panel of 33 groups have identified the problems of the poor in the Musi catchment area. The government has initiated the Musi development to improve the future of the people of Telangana, the economy of the State and the country.”

Addressing the media in the Secretariat, he said, “We have leant the plight of the poor who are living miserable lives in the stench of the Musi river. We will make Hyderabad a city that can compete with the world.”

The opposition has been condemning the government action and alleging that the government has initiated the Musi project out of frustration and for fear of losing power, the CM said.

“The project is not for beautification but it’s for Musi rejuvenation and our effort is to save people from the dirt and stench,” the Chief Minister said. “Our idea is to improve the standard of living of the people. I will come anywhere to Mallanna Sagar, Ranganayak Sagar, Kondapochamma,” the CM said.
