Buzz is doing the rounds that YSRCP president and Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is examining pros and cons of advancing the elections even though there is no official confirmation on such a possibility
Visakhapatnam: The decision to call on Jana Sena Party founder and actor Pawan Kalyan by TDP national president and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Vijayawada on Tuesday has set off speculation that there may be realignment of political parties in the elections due in 2024.
There is also a buzz doing the rounds that YSRCP president and Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is examining pros and cons of advancing the elections even though there is no official confirmation on such a possibility.
Addressing his party's general body meeting at Guntur in June, Pawan Kalyan had hinted at three scenarios in the run-up to the 2024 elections viz an alliance by TDP, JSP and BJP or by JSP and JSP combine or JSP going alone by putting up candidates in all 175 constituencies.
Calling for unity among non-YSRCP parties to avoid division in anti-establishment votes, Pawan Kalyan took strong exception to YSRCP leaders' charge that he is a 'package star.' He threatened that "I will break their teeth and take serious action" if they describe me as a package star.
YSRCP parliamentary party leader V Vijaya Sai Reddy and others very often in their media interactions describe him as 'Pawan Naidu' indicating that he is the 'adopted son' of Chandrababu Naidu. They also charged him with delivering speeches as per the script prepared by TDP leadership.
Naidu held a meeting with Pawan Kalyan at a five star hotel in Vijayawada on Tuesday to express solidarity with him in his fight against the YSRCP government and the alleged misuse of police and official machinery against the Opposition parties after the Visakhapatnam Police registered various cases against JSP activists on the charge of attacking several Ministers and TTD Chairman YV Subba Reddy at Visakhapatnam International Airport after the 'Visakha Garjana' show organised by the North Andhra JAC in support of three capitals.
Pawan Kalyan had to abruptly wind up his Visakhapatnam visit to hold three-day long road shows on Monday as part of his Jana Vani programme. The police woke him up in the wee hours of October 15 and 16 and reportedly asked him not to move out of his room in the hotel, which led to a series of tweets by the actor-turned politician.
