Naidu, Jagan Welcome SC Order
Vijayawada: Even as the blame game continues over the claims over use of animal fat in the ghee used for preparing Tirumala Laddus, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and his predecessor YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday welcomed the Supreme Court’s order for an independent probe by a five-member committee into the entire controversy.
“I welcome the Honourable Supreme Court’s order of setting up SIT, comprising officers from CBI, AP Police and FSSAI to investigate the issue of adulteration of Tirupati laddu. Satyamev Jayate,” Naidu said in a posting on micro-blogging site X immediately after the apex court’s decision hearing on a batch of petitions filed against his claim blaming the erstwhile YSRCP government for allowing adulterated laddus at the sanctum sanctorum.
“Not once, twice, the apex court has pulled up Naidu for spreading lies over the laddus,” Jagan told reporters at Tadepalli denying any wrong-doing on religious lines. He alleged that the Chief Minister was trying to politicise the issue to tarnish his image and his party’s name.
