Speaking at the event after launching the app, KTR said: "India is a diverse country and we as a country have failed to raise as many number ofsuccessful enterprises as we can, the culture in Indian states usually doesn't celebrate entrepreneurial spirit. States across India should learn from culture of Gujrat where entrepreneurship is part of culture and is nurtured and cherished. I usually say this to our prospective investors, the experiences of investors in India depend on the gateway they choose to enter India. I don't want to comment on any other State, but if you enter India through our State Telangana, you will get phone number of ministers and higher officials and everything will go on smoothly and quickly."
The minister said that he reads 13 newspapers daily and share relevant and important new articles with his team to work on. KTR spoke about one such intervention, where one day during Covid period he came across an article in a newspaper where one such investor Sabu Jacob, the MD of Kitex, one of the largest kids apparel manufacturers in world, was facing some problems with the Kerala govt and was looking for a new place to expand their business operations.
KTR added that "I asked my team to contact the Sabu Jacob MD of Kitex and invite him to Telangana and due to Covid restrictions on transportation in that time he said he will come later, but we decided to charter a special flight for the investor and he visited Hyderabad and the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park at Warangal. He was impressed by the attitude of our Govt and he readily committed to invest Rs1,000 crore and later within one month he increased his investment to Rs2,500 crore in the State and now there are two Kitex units which are in operations, while third unit is under construction."
