BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) addressed the recent police raid on a farmhouse owned by his brother-in-law, Raj Pakala, condemning it as a part of a "malicious campaign and political conspiracy" against him and his party. He clarified that the gathering in question was a family housewarming celebration, which opponents have deliberately misconstrued as a rave party.

In his statement, KTR said, “Raj Pakala built a house and held a family gathering for the housewarming. Despite my absence, baseless rumors are being spread with my name attached to them.” KTR asserted that these accusations are politically motivated and aimed at discrediting BRS leaders who are actively exposing alleged corruption, such as the Civil Supplies and Musi scams, associated with rival politicians.

Further denouncing the actions, KTR claimed that the raid and subsequent “narcotics case” labeling came under “orders from above.” He highlighted that Raj Pakala’s test results were negative, questioning the NDPS case filed against him. “They created sensational claims, even suggesting bombs were found, only to come up empty-handed,” KTR said, adding that the BJP and Congress are spreading “baseless rumors.”

The raid, conducted by Cyberabad police, Special Operations Team (SOT), and excise officials at Pakala’s Janwada farmhouse, reportedly uncovered foreign liquor and drugs, according to an official release. However, KTR emphasized that the political attack against him and his party is the real motive behind the incident, and he vowed to continue his fight against corruption in Telangana.
