KTR and Harish Rao Placed Under House Arrest in Hyderabad, Kaushik Reddy Granted Bail

Anticipating unrest following the arrest of Huzurabad MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy, the police placed several BRS leaders under house arrest in Hyderabad on Tuesday. A heavy police presence was seen outside the residences of party working president KT Rama Rao, senior MLA T Harish Rao, and other senior leaders, including MLAs. The police informed the BRS leaders about their detention.

Meanwhile, the court granted bail to Kaushik Reddy in Karimnagar, and he is expected to be released by noon. He was arrested earlier in Hyderabad after three cases were filed against him following a heated argument with defected MLA M Sanjay Kumar at the district collectorate in Karimnagar on Sunday. Kaushik Reddy was held in police custody overnight on Monday before being presented before the district magistrate.

Speaking to the media at his residence in Kokapet, Harish Rao expressed his happiness over the court granting bail to Kaushik Reddy. He mentioned that although there was a possibility of releasing the BRS MLA on station bail, the police deliberately kept him in custody overnight.

He said, "This is clearly a politically motivated case. Kaushik Reddy who had zero cases against him , is facing around 28 cases under the Congress government. He is being harassed for questioning the government. The DGP must instruct the police officials on how to deal with such politically motivated cases sensibly,"
