Hyderabad: In a recent address at Gandhi Bhavan, Kodanda Reddy, National Vice President of Kisan Cell, strongly refuted allegations made by the BJP and BRS parties against the Congress-led state government regarding the contentious issue of Pharma City.
Reddy dismissed claims made by the opposition parties, labelling them as entirely baseless and aimed at disturbing the farming community. Accusations suggesting substantial investments and the relocation of Pharma City, as stated in their manifestos, were debunked as misleading tactics to unsettle farmers, particularly after the recent assembly elections where the opposition failed to secure the anticipated number of seats.
Highlighting specific instances, Reddy pointed out that at Mucharla, Hyderabad, the land was allegedly purchased by BRS from farmers at 7 lakhs under the guise of Hyderabad Green City Pharma and later sold at significantly higher prices. Additionally, Reddy criticized the oversight of Kishan Reddy's birthplace in discussions related to the Pharma City matter.
The Congress party has long been critical of the proposed Pharma City, citing potential disruptions to local communities and wildlife. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy firmly stated the government's intent to reconsider the concentration of the pharma industry in a single location, proposing alternative dispersed locations.
Affirming a commitment to democratic principles, Kodanda Reddy assured that the Congress government is inclined to heed public sentiment in determining the establishment of Pharma City industries, aligning the decision with the will of the people. The government expressed readiness to proceed with the construction after thorough consideration of public opinion on the matter.
