Visakhapatnam: The campaign, by Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, in support of YSRCP, in various parts of the city evoked a big response on Sunday as massive throngs greeted him at Vepagunta, Gopalapatnam, Kancharapalem Mettu, Akkayyapalem and other areas.

As part of Memantha Siddham Yatra, he addressed wayside meetings and greeted the voters at various places. The huge convoy that followed created traffic snarls at various places. This was his first roadshow as part of campaigning for the simultaneous elections to Assembly and Lok Sabha after issuance of notification.

During his brief interaction with the voters, he said he is banking on army of supporters and the masses for getting a massive mandate for next five years to continue his welfare agenda. He came down heavily on TDP-BJP and Jana Sena alliance and described it as opportunistic. He said only the YSRCP is committed to develop the State on all fronts and create executive capital in Visakhapatnam as part of decision for decentralisation.

The YSRCP president, accompanied by party regional coordinator Y V Subba Reddy, local candidates including M V V Satyanarayana, Gudivada Amarnath, Adeep Raj and others kicked off Day 20 of the bus yatra in the city. The bus yatra began from the Chinnayapalem stay point, Anakapalli district, with its initial stop at Pinagadi Junction in Pendurthi mandal. Despite the scorching heat, fuelled by Sunday energy, locals eagerly lined up to catch a glimpse of the Chief Minister. As the bus arrived, a large number of locals thronged to cheer and meet Jagan, a party leader said.
