Hyderabad: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has extended his congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi following the victory of his party in India's general elections. Netanyahu expressed optimism for the advancement of Indo-Israeli relations to unprecedented levels.
With the final results of all Lok Sabha constituencies now declared, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has emerged victorious in 240 out of 543 seats, while the Congress secured 99 seats.
The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance has comfortably surpassed the majority threshold of 272 seats in the 543-member Lok Sabha.
Prime Minister Modi's tenure has been marked by significant diplomatic strides, including being the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Israel since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992.
His landmark visit in July 2017 was widely noted for its efforts to redefine India's regional ties, particularly in the context of the Israel-Palestinian conflict. Modi's subsequent visit to the West Bank underscored India's commitment to fostering relations with Palestine.
