Hyderabad While the Telangana Legislative Assembly election dates are coming closer, the Income Tax (I-T) Department has cracked its whip on political parties in the State. After conducting raids on the houses of Congress leaders last week, it has now searching the residences of BRS leader & Telangana Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy's relatives in Hyderabad this week.

The I-T department officials have searched the house of Pradeep, a close relative of Sabitha Indra Reddy, at My Home Bhooja apartment in Gachibowli on Monday morning. The IT sleuths also searched the residences of other relatives of the minister.

On the same day, at least 10 teams of the I-T officials have conducted raids at the houses of top executives of the pharmaceutical firms in Hyderabad. They have carried out simultaneous searches at 15 different locations across the city including Nagulapally in RC Puram, Patelguda in Ameenpur and My Home Bhooja apartment in Gachibowli.

The I-T officials were checking the records of financial transactions, reportedly on the complaints of tax evasion. However, the link between the pharma company and the minister’s kin is not yet disclosed. According to media sources, Kotla Narendra Reddy, who used to work in marketing department at Dr Reddy's Laboratories, is allegedly involved in tax evasion.
