GMR Group to develop realty, industries at Bhogapuram
GMR Group Chairman G M Rao on Friday said besides developing the Bhogapuram International Airport emulating the success story of Hyderabad Airport, they will also promote an airport city and an industrial zone near the airport.

Visakhapatnam: GMR Group Chairman G M Rao on Friday said besides developing the Bhogapuram International Airport emulating the success story of Hyderabad Airport, they will also promote an airport city and an industrial zone near the airport.
Speaking at the Global Investors’ Summit (GIS) here, he said “we feel privileged to be developing the greenfield international airport at Bhogapuram near Visakhapatnam in my home State with all humility. Phase-one of the airport will serve six million passengers and an ultimate capacity of 30 million passengers when it becomes fully operational.”
In phase-one, Rs 5,000 crore will be invested.
“We will also be developing metropolises and airport cities around the airport that consist of an industrial zone, airspace zone and education and healthcare zone. We will replicate the success of Hyderabad Airport at Shamshabad. It is going to transform Vizag city and also place the State on the global map as the most-preferred investment destination.”
