Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Congress, acknowledged the unexpected nature of the results and spoke briefly, expressing surprise. He underlined the necessity of a thorough examination of the Maharashtra election results.
Asserting that the victory demonstrated the public's faith in progress and sound governance, Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended the Maharashtra people for their "historic mandate" in support of the NDA.
Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) described the Maharashtra election results as "unexpected and incomprehensible," expressing shock at how voters rejected his party, which he said had benefited the state throughout the plague.

Hemant Soren's JMM party is part of the JMM-led alliance that looks to establish the government in Jharkhand for a second consecutive term.
