Dr Evita bags FOGSI-Dheera award
80 obstetrician and gynecologists across TS & Andhra were recognised for their contribution towards maternal and reproductive health

Hyderabad: The Federation of Obstetric and Gynecological Societies of India (FOGSI) on Wednesday said it has recognised 80 obstetrician and gynecologists across Telangana and Andhra States who have contributed significantly towards improving maternal and reproductive health outcomes and have created a nationwide impact.
Here, the Chairperson of Fernandez Foundation, Dr Evita Fernandez received the FOGSI-Dheera award. The award was presented by the president of FOGSI, Prof S Shantha Kumari in Hyderabad.
The theme for this year's event being, "FOGSI for all and always and, Dheera - Stop violence against women," with a focus on addressing the causes and risk factors related to violence against women and sensitize young adults and public at large on the aspects related to sexual and reproductive health. After managing the 70-year-old Fernandez Hospital for three decades, Dr Evita Fernandez converted the private organisation into a not-for-profit healthcare foundation.
