Hyderabad Strongly condemning the remarks made by Tamil Nadu Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin on Sanatan Dharma (eternal set of duties), Telangana state BJP official spokesperson N V Subhash chided him stating that the young minister lacks knowledge of Indian culture and tradition.
Udhayanidhi Stalin, Sports Minister and the son of Tamil Nadu chief minister M K Stalin, has crossed all limits after comparing India’s ancient dharma with some disease, Subhash said while questioning the minister’s identity, “is he not a follower of Sanatan Dharma.”
Stalin at a writers’ conference in Chennai said Sanatan Dharma cannot be simply opposed but must be eradicated. He was quoted saying, “Sanatan Dharma is like malaria and dengue and so it must be eradicated and not opposed,” by a news agency.
Subhash further said that Sanatan Dharma itself is a cure to control and eradicate all diseases and enrich knowledge of those who follow this eternal duty. There is no question of eradication as Sanatan means culture and civilisation which is 6,000 years old, he added.
Subhash alleged that the DMK minister is fishing for publicity by criticizing Sanatan Dharma. His remarks have made it clear that all the allies of I N D I A hold the same agenda of being anti-Sanatan. Explaining about Dharma, Subhash said in colloquial parlance it means religion. It can also mean culture and civilisation. So, Sanatan dharma can mean “timeless civilisation”. In the holy book of Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna describes the knowledge he shares as Sanatana, timeless, the BJP spokesperson added.
