Cong indulging in real estate business: Bandi demands white paper

Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Sunday alleged that a large-scale land grabbing program was behind the Congress government's 'Fourth City' establishment plan. He also alleged that in Maheshwaram assembly constituency, the Congress leaders had acquired thousands of acres of land in advance to commit the scam.
"They are ready to amass thousands of crores of assets by indulging in real estate scams," he alleged while claiming that a scam of ₹. 2 lakh crore had taken place in the name of Dharani portal. Terming dharani as the biggest scam in the country, Bandi Sanjay said the Congress leaders were also planning to follow the path of the BRS party and loot assets worth thousands of crores of rupees. Bandi Sanjay Kumar attended the Bonala celebrations held at Gurramguda in Maheshwaram constituency on Sunday.
He spoke to the media along with Chevella MP Vishweshwar Reddy, BJP State vice-president Gangidi Manohar Reddy, district president Bokka Narasimha Reddy, State spokesperson J Sangappa and State leaders Andela Sriramulu Yadav.
Speaking on the occasion, he extended Bonalu festival greetings to all the people. “There is a long history behind the bonalu festival. There is also a scientific reason for the Bonam festival. But the government will not fund such a big festival. In the name of secularism, the Congress government is spending crores of rupees on one religion. It is shameful that the Congress, which released Rs 33 crore for Ramzan festival celebrations and Rs 2.40 crore for the Tablighi Jamaat meeting, which killed Hindus, was claiming that it was a great decision. Like the BRS, the Congress is also the horn of the MIM. The Congress will suffer the same fate as the BRS party. If the AIMIM is to be trusted, the Congress leaders are sure to drown.
“It is shameful that the Congress leaders have proposed that they will take Akbaruddin Owaisi and make him contest from Kodangal assembly constituency. We have to work in coordination with the Centre. We will fully cooperate in the development of Telangana. Let's work together and bring in funds. It should also be remembered that scolding the Prime Minister in the same way is a loss and not a gain,” he said.
Sanjay claimed that there was a big land scam going on behind the government's announcement that Maheshwaram would be converted into a fourth city. On the crop loan waiver scheme, he claimed that only 18 lakh farmers had been given the loan waiver benefit so far. He said the number of farmers, who had taken loans below Rs 1 lakh was 36 lakh during the tenure of the previous government. “It is ironic that the number of beneficiaries of the loan waiver scheme below Rs 1.5 lakh had not crossed 18 lakh. This means that 70 out of 100 farmers have not been waived off their loans so far. The interest rates in the banks have gone up and the farmers are struggling to repay their external debts. The farmers are also struggling to get a penny for their capital,” he said.
He alleged that the Congress leaders had become accustomed to bringing up a new issue and diverting the attention of the people to avoid implementing their six guarantees, including the loan waiver scheme. “The Congress government is playing a drama in the name of the loan waiver scheme to win the upcoming local body elections and nothing has happened to the farmers. There is no question of leaving the Congress government on the issue of the implementation of the six guarantees, including loan waiver scheme. Under the leadership of Kishan Reddy, the BJP is gearing up for a battle with all sections of the people including the farmers,” he added.
Stating that Dharani portal’s name is being changed to Bhu Mata by the Congress government, he said that the congress leaders were preparing to use the Bhu Mata portal for the foreage of the earth. “The biggest scam in the country was committed in the name of the Dharani portal during the BRS regime. In 2014, when Telangana was formed, there were 24 lakh assigned lands in the state, but today, how has those lands come down to five lakh? In the name of Dharani, the BRS leaders have grabbed the assigned lands, sikham lands, devadaya, forest and bhoodan lands as well as lands of the poor. The value of those lands is up to ₹. 2 lakh crore. Why are the Congress leaders, who had said before the elections that KCR's family members had looted dharani in a big way, not conducting an inquiry into the matter? What was the report of the five-member committee on Dharani after coming to power? Why is it not being ascertained who are the culprits who committed the robbery in the name of Dharani,” he asked.
He said that Looking at the behaviour of the Congress leaders, it did not seem that even a yard of land would be left in the future. “If the government has any sincerity, a white paper should be released on the alienation of dharani lands.
The proposal to merge 33 Gram Panchayats, 20 Municipal Corporations, 8 municipalities, 61 Industrial areas , Cantonment Board and the suburbs of Greater Hyderabad into Greater Hyderabad is meaningless. The merger is being planned to put the burden of taxes on the people. Less than 15 years ago, the merged areas of Hyderabad suburbs are still underdeveloped. It is meaningless to merge other municipalities, corporations and panchayats without developing them and providing minimum facilities,” he said. He warned that the BJP leadership would discuss the merger issue and announce appropriate action.
