Vijayawada: While lauding the efforts of Andhra Pradesh State Energy Conservation Mission (APSECM), State Designated Agency (SDA) of Andhra Pradesh in helping to achieve India's climate goals, Dr Ajay Mathur, Director General (DG) of the International Solar Alliance (ISA), advocated a three-pronged strategy for all States for having net zero emissions by 2070.
He was speaking at the release of the book "Energy Efficiency Matters" at India International Centre in New Delhi on Thursday, Mathur, one of the co-authors of the book, spoke on the importance of reducing carbon footprint. He presented a copy of the book to A Chandrasekhara Reddy, CEO of APSECM.
In order for the country to achieve the climate goals that it has set for itself, an energy efficiency integrated strategy will be crucial, he said and suggested efficient implementation of energy efficiency programmes at the State level, increase in ongoing dissemination of information about energy efficiency technologies and the massive involvement of the general public.
