Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday announced in the Assembly that their government has paid the dues of contractors that were delegated to deliver sarees for the Bathukamma saree scheme.

Slamming the BRS government for corruption in the scheme, he said that the previous government had lied about providing employment to the weavers as the contracts were given to ‘benamis’ who bought those sarees from Surat. For facilitating this convenient deal, BRS party leaders received kickbacks, the CM alleged.

Revanth Reddy also said that a proposal to give international cricketer Mohd Siraj and two-time world champion boxer Nikhat Zareen Group-one jobs will be discussed by the cabinet. While Nikhat Zareen hails from Nizamabad, Siraj is from Hyderabad. Zareen is presently competing in the Olympics in Paris.

Speaking about the plan for pharma village, Revanth Reddy said that while Congress government has laid out a plan to create pharma villages, the BRS government came up with Pharma City, that will lead to polluting the area going ahead.

The CM further said that the new Agriculture, Industry, IT and Excise policies will be discussed in the cabinet soon.
