Vijayawada: Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha on Thursday said Andhra Pradesh Government under leadership of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has taken various initiatives to combat women trafficking including by strengthening specialised police units, rescue operations, rehabilitation services an awareness programs.

She was speaking at the National Consultation on Countering Cyber-Enabled Human Trafficking organised here by AP Government, Prajwala NGO and partner-partner-organisations Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), Government of India, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Ministry of Law & Justice and US Consulate of Hyderabad.

She said as part of capacity building to strengthen AP Police, the Chief Minister has proposed the establishment of Cyber Crime Stations in every district headquarters to contain and combat cyber-crime.

She said “AP Police has undergone significant transformations under the current government, contrasting with previous government. We are focusing on key initiatives and changes aimed at enhancing the effectiveness, efficiency, and community trust in the police force like increased funding and resources, recruitment and training, community policing programs, technology integration.”
