AP RERA, Credai members brainstorm on construction sector issues

Visakhapatnam: The members of Andhra Pradesh RERA including M Ramachandra Reddy (Judicial Members, Appellate Tribunal), Chandu Sambasiva Rao, E Rajasekhara Reddy, A Jagannadha Rao, USL Kameswara Rao and S Chakrapani, clarified the doubts raised by the members on Monday.
During the interaction with the Credai-Visakhapatnam, EC members and former chairmen spent two hours on problems faced by the construction sector.
The meeting was conducted by Credai-Visakhapatnam wherein the RERA members assured to extend all possible help within the framework of the Act. They admitted that builders contribute substantially to the exchequer and provide employment to a large number of people, especially labourers in the unorganised sector. It is a very important sector which has been boosting the economy, and deserves all encouragement, observed one member.
Another member said that one advantage in AP RERA is the fact that the Principal Secretary of Municipal Administration and Urban Development is the Chairperson of the RERA. Kindly take opinions of all and forward them to the Chairperson, who is prepared to solve them, said RERA member Jagannadha Rao.
He wanted builders to bring to their notice any issue and told them that there is no necessity to engage consultants. The members also pointed out to less number of registrations and see to it that all builders are registered.
The issues raised by members of Credai-Visakhapatnam included, among others, issue of closure, uploading of quarterly reports and bringing amendments to the provisions and enable builders to carry on their "business with ease."
Credai-AP joint secretary and Credai-Visakhapatnam past Chairman Peela Koteswara Rao said that the association had a code of conduct and according to it; every member should follow the provisions of RERA. Credai-Visakhapatnam Chairman Bayana Srinivasa Rao brought to the notice of RERA members that some minor issues during registration have been causing hardship to builders and requested them to look into the issues.
