AP Cabinet clears projects worth Rs. 1.26 lakh crore

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, which met on Wednesday took several important decisions including giving stamp of approval to investments worth Rs 1,26,748 crore. The projects envisage an investment of Rs 81,000 crore in green energy. The projects are expected to provide direct jobs for 40,330 over a period of seven years. The State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) had recently approved the proposals.
UK-based Causis e Mobility proposal to invest in an e-bus manufacturing facility at Kopparthy in YSR Kadapa district has been approved. The project will provide permanent jobs to 1200. Investments in green energy will generate direct job opportunities for 40,330.
The Cabinet cleared the proposal to expand Bhavanapadu port in Srikakulam. AP Maritime Development Board is developing three ports including Ramayapatnam and Machilipatnam as per the decision taken by the State government to improve port connectivity.
Another important decision was to increase reservation for recruitment and promotions of physically challenged persons from three to 4 per cent, regularise jobs of sachivalayam workers and speed up construction of one lakh houses for the homeless in Visakhapatnam. A decision was also taken to hold the Assembly session for a short duration.
